Job Description
The Chicago Police Department is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and community-minded inspaniduals to join our force as Police Officers
Community Engagement & Safety: Build trust and foster strong relationships within local communities through proactive engagement, outreach, and collaborative problem-solving.
Patrol & Crime Prevention: Patrol assigned areas via vehicle, bicycle, or foot to prevent and detect criminal activity, maintain public order, and ensure resident safety.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, providing immediate aid, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention.
Investigations & Reporting: Conduct preliminary investigations at crime scenes, interview witnesses and victims, collect evidence, and write thorough, accurate incident reports.
Enforcement: Enforce local, state, and federal laws and ordinances fairly and impartially; make lawful arrests and testify in court proceedings when required.
Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong verbal and written communication skills for clear reporting and public interaction.
High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and crisis management capabilities under pressure.
